Le site abritait, à l'origine, une motte féodale située à l'emplacement de l'ancien château, dont il ne reste aujourd'hui qu'un pavillon, et aurait été l'oeuvre des seigneurs de Langan au 11e siècle. Aux 14e et 15e siècles, Lanrigan est une place forte dont il subsiste un pavillon archaïque ainsi que la partie nord du château actuel (16e siècle) , avec son système de défense (tour à mâchicoulis et créneaux couverts). La reprise du 16e siècle concerne les façades Est et sud, ainsi que diverses ouvertures dans le pavillon médiéval situé à l'est du château. La façade ouest a été remaniée au début du 20e siècle. History
The site originally housed a feudal motte located at the site of the old château, of which only a pavilion remains today, and is believed to have been the work of the lords of Langan in the 11th century. In the 14th and 15th centuries, Lanrigan is a stronghold of which there remains an archaic pavilion as well as the north part of the current château (16th century), with its defence system (tower with machicolations and covered crenellations). The 16th-century reworking concerns the East and south facades, as well as various openings in the medieval pavilion located to the east of the château. The west facade was remodelled at the beginning of the 20th century. The decorative vocabulary is essentially Gothic.
