The lordship already existed in 1266, belonging in part to the monks of Saint-Mélaine Abbey and to the heirs of Raoul de Clays. The present construction dates from 1750-1765, built in place of the primitive manor of which some elements remain in the service buildings. The vestibule retains a sculpture by Falconet, Cupid Victorious, commissioned by Louis XV for Mme de Pompadour. Of rectangular plan, the château is raised on a ground floor set back several steps, a storey and a roof space. Pavilions cut the façade, framing the entrance. A staircase adorned with an ironwork railing gives access to the storeys.
