Erigé de 1602 à 1604, à l'occasion d'une peste qui avait sévi en 1598, le calvaire de Plougastel-Daoulas est l'un des plus importants de Bretagne. Les dispositions générales sont les mêmes qu'à Guimiliau : la base est constituée par un massif carré flanqué aux angles de quatre éperons obliques percés chacun d'une baie cintrée et ornés, sur leur face extérieure, d'une statue de l'un des évangélistes. Une frise contourne la partie supérieure de la base. Sur la plate-forme supérieure s'élèvent les trois croix, celle du Christ, à double traverse, et celles des larrons, au milieu d'un foisonnement de personnages (environ 150) , regroupés en scènes représentant les différents épisodes de la Passion.

History
Built from 1602 to 1604, on the occasion of a plague which had occurred in 1598, the calvary of Plougastel-Daoulas is one of the most important in Brittany. The general arrangements are the same as at Guimiliau: the base is formed by a square mass flanked at the corners by four oblique spurs each pierced by a round-arch opening and decorated, on their outer face, by a statue of one of the evangelists. A frieze surrounds the upper part of the base. On the upper platform rise the three crosses, that of Christ, with double crossbar, and those of the thieves, amid an abundance of figures (approximately 150), grouped into scenes representing the different episodes of the Passion.
