Historique
Chapelle du début du 16e siècle, surmontée d'une tour qui lui est antérieure et qui fut arasée à la fin du 18e siècle pour servir de tour à feu pendant la construction du premier phare. Vers 1792, l'église a été raccourcie de moitié pour permettre la construction de l'ancien phare. La tour, qui servait à la fois de défense et de clocher, présente un angle coupé par un pan dans les deux tiers de sa hauteur. A l'angle sud-ouest est adossée une tourelle terminée en cul-de-lampe, percée de cinq meurtrières. Sous la meurtrière, ainsi qu'aux angles nord-est et nord-ouest, sont placés des figures allégoriques d'hommes et d'animaux. A partir de 1830, le clocher est utilisé comme tour à feu.

History
Chapel of the early 16th century, surmounted by a tower which is earlier than it and which was levelled at the end of the 18th century to serve as a fire tower during the construction of the first lighthouse. Around 1792, the church was shortened by half to allow construction of the old lighthouse. The tower, which served both for defence and as a bell tower, presents an angle cut by a bevel in two-thirds of its height. At the south-west angle is set against it a turret finished in a corbelled console, pierced with five loopholes. Below the loophole, as well as at the north-east and north-west angles, are placed allegorical figures of men and animals. From 1830 onwards, the bell tower is used as a fire tower.
