Historique
Le château de Kerouartz, construit au 17e siècle, est précédé au sud par une allée d'un kilomètre de long, bordée de part et d'autre d'une double rangée de hêtres. A l'extrémité sud de cette allée se trouve le portail d'entrée. De ce portail ne subsistent que deux piles rectangulaires en granit, surmontées chacune d'un pignon triangulaire. La pile Est est ornée, à son sommet, sur sa face extérieure, des armoiries de la famille de Kerouartz. Ces deux piles comportent sur leur face interne des saillies verticales de taille permettant la pose de portes sur pivots. A l'est de cet ensemble existe un passage à enjamber, constitué de deux marches surmontées d'une dalle de pierre veticale. L'intérêt de cet ensemble est constitué principalement par sa position à l'entrée de l'avenue qui mène au château et forme, avec ce dernier et le parc, un tout indivisible.

History
The château of Kerouartz, built in the 17th century, is preceded to the south by an avenue one kilometre long, bordered on both sides by a double row of beeches. At the southern extremity of this avenue is found the entrance gateway. Of this gateway only two rectangular granite piles remain, each surmounted by a triangular gable. The eastern pile is ornamented, at its summit, on its exterior face, with the armorial bearings of the Kerouartz family. These two piles have on their internal face vertical projections of finished stone allowing for the placement of doors on pivots. To the east of this ensemble exists a passage to be crossed, consisting of two steps surmounted by a vertical stone slab. The interest of this ensemble is constituted principally by its position at the entrance of the avenue which leads to the château and forms, with the latter and the park, an indivisible whole.
