Historique

History
Small edifice in Latin cross form which comprises a nave flanked to the north by an aisle, a transept and a polygonal apse. On the gable of the western façade rises a small openwork bell tower, with a stone spire which appears to belong to the 17th century. The large windows of the nave and apse are surmounted by gables, with slopes decorated with crockets and gargoyles. Spire rebuilt in 1757. Internally, the vault is formed by a ceiled roof structure. A painted and carved wooden screen dates from the 16th century. On each of the panels are represented the apostles and two scenes from the life of Christ. The tie-beam which separates the nave from the transept carries in its middle Christ on the cross surrounded by his mother and Saint John. This chapel could have been a seigneurial foundation going back to the early years of the 16th century. Its proximity to the fortress of Tossen-Saint-Veltas suggests that it could have been the private chapel of this castle. This edifice appears to have been entirely completed in a single campaign dating to around 1500, and is part of the creations of the workshop of Philippe de Beaumanoir, a constructor very active in Trégor.
