Sous-station de transformation électrique réalisée par l'architecte Paul Friesé en 1903 pour la Compagnie générale du Métropolitain de Paris. La première d'une série de sous-stations construites à Paris pour le métro ou pour la Compagnie Parisienne de Distribution d'Electricité, la sous-station Opéra, présente une façade vitrée à pans de fer. Elle a été surélevée en 1914 puis modifiée encore en 1927 et 1972. Elle est toujours utilisée par la RATP.

History
Electrical transformation sub-station realised by architect Paul Friesé in 1903 for the Compagnie générale du Métropolitain de Paris. The first of a series of sub-stations built in Paris for the metro or for the Compagnie Parisienne de Distribution d'Electricité, the Opéra sub-station, presents a glazed façade with iron framework. It was raised in height in 1914 then modified again in 1927 and 1972. It is still used by the RATP.
