History
This former private mansion in the Nouvelle Athènes district was the property of painter Ary Scheffer. Transformed into a museum, it presents collections of memorabilia and works of art. In the main house are found memorabilia of George Sand; on the other side of the courtyard is found the studio of Ary Scheffer. The ownership of the hotel (formerly state property, ministry of culture) was transferred to the commune on 1 January 2007.
