Construction des bâtiments sur ordre de Louis XV, entre 1769 et 1774, sous la direction de l'architecte Jacques Gondoin. Ces travaux, fortement influencés par l'Antiquité grecque, comprennent le corps central avec la façade principale néo-classique, rue de l'Ecole-de-Médecine, la cour d'honneur intérieure, le grand amphithéâtre et la salle du Conseil. Locaux devenus trop exigus à la fin du 19e siècle : agrandissement entre 1878 et 1905 par l'architecte Ginain. La faculté de Médecine accueille dans ses locaux le musée d'histoire de la Médecine.

History
Construction of the buildings on the order of Louis XV, between 1769 and 1774, under the direction of architect Jacques Gondoin. These works, strongly influenced by Greek Antiquity, comprise the central body with the neo-classical main facade, rue de l'Ecole-de-Médecine, the interior courtyard of honour, the large amphitheatre and the Council room. Premises became too cramped at the end of the 19th century: enlargement between 1878 and 1905 by architect Ginain. The Faculty of Medicine houses in its premises the museum of the history of Medicine.
