Première demeure de la fin du 17e siècle habitée par l'ingénieur concepteur de la machine de Marly. Occupée par la famille du duc de Penthièvre pendant la première moitié du 18e siècle (aménagement du parc à la fraçaise). Donnée à la comtesse du Barry par Louis XV, qui la fait agrandir par J. ; A. Gabriel (1769-1771) et qui fait construire le pavillon de musique par Cl. ; N. Ledoux (1771). Parc redessiné à l'anglaise et bergerie de la fin du 19e siècle. L'ensemble du domaine de la comtesse du Barry comprenait : le pavillon de musique, à Louveciennes, ainsi que la machine de Marly, la grille des Lions et le temple de l'Amour, à Bougival.

History
First residence from the late 17th century inhabited by the engineer who designed the Marly machine. Occupied by the family of the Duke of Penthièvre during the first half of the 18th century (layout of the park in the French style). Given to the Comtesse du Barry by Louis XV, who had it enlarged by J. A. Gabriel (1769-1771) and who had the music pavilion built by Cl. N. Ledoux (1771). Park redesigned in the English style and sheepfold from the late 19th century. The entire estate of the Comtesse du Barry comprised: the music pavilion, at Louveciennes, as well as the Marly machine, the Grille des Lions and the Temple of Love, at Bougival.
