La fondation du village remonterait au 12e siècle, par une communauté de moines envoyés sur ces terres pour les assainir et les cultiver. L'édification paroissiale semble achevée au milieu du 13e siècle. Le plan de l'église est fondé sur une ancienne tour-clocher, actuellement située à la croisée du transept, à laquelle est venue se raccorder une nef à vaisseau unique (12e siècle). Un chevet plat tripartite achève l'ensemble. Le choeur remonte probablement au 13e siècle, suite à la démolition d'un chevet du 12e siècle. Des traces de décors peints restent visibles dans les combles du choeur et du bas-côté sud. La construction du transept a été réalisée à la fin du 12e siècle, après celle de la nef.

History
The foundation of the village dates back to the 12th century, by a community of monks sent to these lands to drain and cultivate them. The parish building seems to have been completed in the middle of the 13th century. The plan of the church is based on an old bell tower, currently located at the crossing of the transept, to which came to connect a nave with single vessel (12th century). A flat tripartite chevet completes the whole. The choir dates probably to the 13th century, following the demolition of a 12th century chevet. Traces of painted decoration remain visible in the roof spaces of the choir and south aisle. The construction of the transept was carried out at the end of the 12th century, after that of the nave.
