Historique
Pont en béton précontraint, long de 76 mètres, réalisé par l'ingénieur Eugène Freyssinet de 1948 à 1949 à la suite d'un concours des Ponts et Chaussées lancé en 1946. Remplaçant un premier pont de 1854 (détruit en 1870) , un deuxième de 1873 (détruit en 1914) et un troisième de 1922 (détruit en 1940) , le pont d'Esbly a servi de prototype à une série de quatre autres ponts de même portée destinés à franchir la Marne (à Sammeron, Changis, Trilbardou et Annet). Une usine de construction en série de voussoirs préfabriqués a été installée à Esbly pour réaliser ce programme. Le tablier forme un arc surbaissé s'appuyant sur les culées par des béquilles triangulaires. Les fondations des anciennes culées ont été réutilisées.

History
Prestressed concrete bridge, 76 metres long, constructed by engineer Eugène Freyssinet from 1948 to 1949 following a competition launched by the Ponts et Chaussées in 1946. Replacing a first bridge of 1854 (destroyed in 1870), a second of 1873 (destroyed in 1914) and a third of 1922 (destroyed in 1940), the Esbly bridge served as a prototype for a series of four other bridges of the same span designed to cross the Marne (at Sammeron, Changis, Trilbardou and Annet). A mass production plant for prefabricated voussoirs was installed at Esbly to carry out this programme. The deck forms a depressed arch resting on the abutments by triangular props. The foundations of the former abutments were reused.
