En 1118, Etienne Harding, abbé de Cîteaux, envoie l'abbé Arthaud avec douze moines fonder une abbaye. Aux 14e et 15e siècles, le monastère souffre de pillages et de l'occupation anglaise. History
In 1118, Etienne Harding, abbot of Cîteaux, sends abbot Arthaud with twelve monks to found an abbey. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the monastery suffers from pillaging and English occupation.
