Etablissement de soins construit en 1888 par l'architecte Félicien Brébant, financé par une souscription publique ouverte en 1886 à la suite de la découverte du vaccin par Louis Pasteur. Le savant, mort en 1895, est inhumé dans la crypte d'une chapelle funéraire réalisée en 1895 par l'architecte Charles Girault et décorée de mosaïques par Luc-Olivier Merson. En 1900, grâce aux dons de la baronne Hirsch et de madame Lebaudy, de nouveaux bâtiments sont édifiés : les bureaux de la direction, une serre et un hôpital, dû à l'architecte M. -F. Martin, avec des lits pour 90 malades. Depuis 1936, l'appartement de Pasteur et son laboratoire accueillent un musée.

History
Healthcare establishment constructed in 1888 by architect Félicien Brébant, financed by public subscription opened in 1886 following the discovery of the vaccine by Louis Pasteur. The scientist, who died in 1895, is buried in the crypt of a funeral chapel realised in 1895 by architect Charles Girault and decorated with mosaics by Luc-Olivier Merson. In 1900, thanks to donations from the Baroness Hirsch and Madame Lebaudy, new buildings were erected: the management offices, a greenhouse and a hospital, designed by architect M.-F. Martin, with beds for 90 patients. Since 1936, Pasteur's apartment and his laboratory have housed a museum.
