History
This building was erected in the years 1640-1650 by Nicolas Ladvocat, counsellor of State. The staircase was installed in the first half of the 18th century (1733). Some modifications took place in the 19th century. A sundial was painted on the courtyard side at the beginning of the 18th century. This hôtel was purchased by George Sand's great-grandfather, who received Jean-Jacques Rousseau there. It is known under the name Hôtel des Vins, then Hôtel Dupin.
