Historique
Cet immeuble fut construit au moment du percement de la rue Duphot, sur les terrains du Couvent de la Conception (après 1790). Il offre les caractères de l'architecture mise à la mode par Ledoux et Boulanger. C'est un ensemble très important et complet. Il y manque seulement les bâtiments du fond de la parcelle qui ont été remplacés par des garages et magasins modernes. Les éléments de décoration, le tracé des baies, rappellent les dispositions de la façade sur rue. Deux ailes symétriques forment retours latéraux ; elles se terminent par des avant-corps couronnés de frontons. History
This building was constructed at the time of the opening of rue Duphot, on the lands of the Convent of the Conception (after 1790). It exhibits the characteristics of architecture brought into fashion by Ledoux and Boulanger. It is a very important and complete ensemble. It lacks only the buildings at the back of the plot which have been replaced by modern garages and shops. The decorative elements, the layout of the openings, recall the dispositions of the street-facing façade. Two symmetrical wings form lateral returns; they end in advanced bodies crowned with pediments. At ground level, a series of semi-circular arcades provide access to vestibules or former coach houses. They are composed with the lower part of low constructions built in front of the wings. These constructions may have been the subject of later additions.
