Historique
La Bourse de commerce fut construite en 1888-1889 par l'architecte Henri Blondel, sur l'emplacement de l'ancien hôtel de Soissons. Elle est issue de l'adjonction d'éléments conservés dudit hôtel, de la Halle aux blés de Nicolas Le Camus de Mézières et de la deuxième coupole couvrant cette halle, par Belanger. Le bâtiment de Blondel, de forme circulaire, est constitué par 25 travées séparées par deux pilastres. L'architecture intérieure de la rotonde est surdécorée. Le décor symbolisant le commerce international (représentation des quatre points cardinaux et des cinq continents) a été réalisé par les peintres Laugée, Luminais, Mazerolle, Clairin et Lucas, L'ensemble constitue un témoin important de l'architecture de la fin du 19e siècle. History
The Bourse de commerce was built in 1888-1889 by architect Henri Blondel, on the site of the former Hôtel de Soissons. It resulted from the addition of elements preserved from said hotel, from the Halle aux blés by Nicolas Le Camus de Mézières and from the second dome covering this hall, by Belanger. Blondel's building, of circular form, is constituted by 25 bays separated by two pilasters. The interior architecture of the rotunda is over-decorated. The decoration symbolizing international commerce (representation of the four cardinal points and five continents) was executed by painters Laugée, Luminais, Mazerolle, Clairin and Lucas.
