Le bar restaurant Au chien qui fume est installé dans un immeuble simple datant du 19e siècle, et fut un des très célèbres lieu des Halles. La devanture est décorée par quatre panneaux fixés sous verre ornés chacun d'un chien en train de fumer et d'un grand nombre de textes : soupe à l'oignon, escargots, saumon, orchestre. A l'intérieur subsiste le comptoir en bois décoré lui aussi de têtes de chiens qui fument.

History
The bar restaurant Au chien qui fume is installed in a simple building dating from the 19th century, and was one of the very famous places of the Halles. The shopfront is decorated with four panels fixed under glass each adorned with a dog smoking and with a large number of texts: onion soup, snails, salmon, orchestra. Inside survives the wooden counter decorated too with heads of smoking dogs.
