History
Replacing an earlier station of 1842, the current station is built from 1905 to 1906 under the aegis of the German railway administration (Kaiserliche General-Direktion der Eisenbahnen in Elsass-Lothringen). The station, with its tall clock tower, is adorned with carved decoration juxtaposing antique, naturalistic and industrial elements. The station was restored in 1991; the glazing, destroyed during the Second World War, was replaced by a work on glass by painter Jean Le Gac.
