Historique
Anciennement prieuré des Bénédictins de Cluny, fondé en 1105, la propriété du couvent passa aux Jésuites, en 1621, qui la gardèrent jusqu'au moment de leur expulsion de France, en 1774. Puis le couvent retourna, jusqu'à la Révolution, aux Bénédictins de Cluny. Vendus comme bien national, les bâtiments de l'ancien prieuré furent, à la suite, acquis en 1827 par la Ville d'Altkirch, qui y installa, en 1829, son Hôpital et, peu après, un orphelinat et un asile pour vieillards. Le bâtiment principal a été reconstruit par les Jésuites vers le milieu du 18e siècle. Il se distingue par un beau portail. Au premier étage, se trouve l'ancienne chapelle du couvent. Ses vitraux sont modernes.

History
Formerly a priory of the Benedictines of Cluny, founded in 1105, the property of the convent passed to the Jesuits in 1621, who kept it until the time of their expulsion from France in 1774. Then the convent returned, until the Revolution, to the Benedictines of Cluny. Sold as national property, the buildings of the former priory were subsequently acquired in 1827 by the Town of Altkirch, which installed there, in 1829, its Hospital and, shortly after, an orphanage and a home for the elderly. The main building was rebuilt by the Jesuits towards the middle of the 18th century. It is distinguished by a fine portal. On the first floor is found the former chapel of the convent. Its stained glass windows are modern.
