Le Landesausschuss, palais de la Diète d'Alsace-Lorraine, puis Parlement, est construit, après concours, par les architectes August Hartel et Skjold Neckelmann, de 1888 à 1892. C'est l'un des édifices majeurs du plan d'urbanisme exécuté à Strasbourg pendant l'annexion de l'Alsace-Lorraine. La partie postérieure de ce palais de style néo-Renaissance a été détruite par bombardement en septembre 1944. Depuis 1957, un théâtre avec une salle de plan circulaire occupe cet emplacement ; il a été dessiné en 1950 par l'architecte Pierre Sonrel en collaboration avec Michel Saint-Denis, directeur du théâtre national de Strasbourg.

History
The Landesausschuss, palace of the Diet of Alsace-Lorraine, then Parliament, was constructed, following a competition, by the architects August Hartel and Skjold Neckelmann, from 1888 to 1892. It is one of the major buildings of the urban planning scheme executed in Strasbourg during the annexation of Alsace-Lorraine. The rear part of this neo-Renaissance palace was destroyed by bombing in September 1944. Since 1957, a theatre with a circular hall occupies this site; it was designed in 1950 by the architect Pierre Sonrel in collaboration with Michel Saint-Denis, director of the national theatre of Strasbourg.
