History
This bridge, still in use, is one of only two cast-iron bridges predating 1850 surviving in France. Cast-iron bridge built in 1841 on the plans of Antoine-Rémy Polonceau. Polonceau system patented in 1835 (first application: the Carrousel bridge in Paris, demolished in 1935).
