Historique

History
The tower and gate of the hospital, remnants of the medieval enclosure, date from the 13th, 14th and 16th centuries. The main building is constructed from 1717 to 1725 by architect F.-R. Mollinger. The anatomy room is created in 1740 in the former Saint-Ehrard chapel, which escaped a fire in 1716. The animal pavilion, in the garden of the Institute of Haematology of the Faculty of Medicine, built in 1921 for the breeding of animals intended for medical experimentation, is the work of Patrice Bonnet, chief architect of Strasbourg University. It is a pavilion constructed in reinforced concrete, of a picturesque style, decorated with animal sculptures.
