Probablement construit au début du 13e siècle et détruit, le château de Schoeneck est reconstruit en 1286 par les soins de l'évêque de Strasbourg. Au 16e siècle, le château est modernisé par les Durckheim, notamment au niveau du système défensif. Le château est détruit à la fin du 17e siècle. Après la Révolution, les vestiges sont achetés par la famille de Dietrich. L'entrée principale du château, au sud, est défendue par deux bastions carrés munis de canonnières. A l'ouest, courtine rectiligne fermant la basse-cour ; à l'est, longue muraille flanquée de deux tours. La porte d'entrée du château était précédée d'un pont-levis.

History
Probably built in the early 13th century and destroyed, the castle of Schoeneck is rebuilt in 1286 by the efforts of the Bishop of Strasbourg. In the 16th century, the castle is modernised by the Durckheim family, notably at the level of the defensive system. The castle is destroyed at the end of the 17th century. After the Revolution, the remains are purchased by the von Dietrich family. The main entrance of the castle, to the south, is defended by two square bastions equipped with gun ports. To the west, a straight curtain wall closing off the lower courtyard; to the east, a long wall flanked by two towers. The castle entrance gate was preceded by a drawbridge.
