Fondée au milieu du 19e siècle par la famille Allenbach, cette usine de bonneterie, à l'origine hydraulique, fut précocement équipée d'une chaudière à vapeur dont la cheminée est de forme pyramidale. History
Founded in the mid-19th century by the Allenbach family, this hosiery factory, originally hydraulic, was early equipped with a steam boiler whose chimney is of pyramidal form. Often adopted following the 1820 legislation on steam apparatus, this form imitates the model adopted in England in the 18th century. This chimney in brick and with a base of sandstone, approximately 16.50 metres high is attached to the main manufacturing workshop. The manufacture comprises three buildings round a courtyard, with a proprietor's dwelling. Manufacturing ceased in 1920.
