Historique
Les caractères architectoniques de l'édifice l'apparentent aux parties du château de Morlanne remaniées et embellies par Odet d'Aydie, comte de Comminges, qui acquit la seigneurie en 1469. L'édifice devait constituer l'habitation de l'abbé laïque de Morlanne. Ce titre était celui que portaient les nobles ayant droit de percevoir une partie de la dîme ecclésiastique et de présentation à la cure. Pour affirmer visiblement ce droit, ils avaient pour habitude d'édifier leur demeure (sans donjon) au plus près de l'église. £Edifice du 15e siècle, remanié au 16e siècle, comportant un logis à deux étages plus les combles, desservi par un escalier en vis dans une tour hors oeuvre. L'intérieur conserve des cheminées anciennes, des détails d'ornementation sculptée (arcs en accolades, fenêtres à coussièges), et une peinture murale de la fin du 15e siècle (scène dessinée au trait) représentant des fresques profanes.

History
The architectural characteristics of the building relate it to the parts of the castle of Morlanne remodelled and embellished by Odet d'Aydie, Count of Comminges, who acquired the seigniory in 1469. The building was to constitute the residence of the lay abbot of Morlanne. This title was that borne by nobles having the right to receive a portion of the ecclesiastical tithe and presentation to the cure. To visibly assert this right, they were accustomed to building their dwelling (without keep) as close as possible to the church. Building of the 15th century, remodelled in the 16th century, comprising a main dwelling with two storeys plus roof space, served by a spiral staircase in a tower projecting from the building. The interior retains old fireplaces, details of sculptured ornamentation (arches with mouldings, windows with cushioned tracery), and a mural painting of the late 15th century (scene drawn in outline) representing secular frescoes.
