Historique

History
No information is preserved concerning the foundation of this church, whose Gothic chapel retains, sculpted on a vault key, the coats of arms of the lords to whom the construction of this appendix is doubtless owed. The single nave terminates in a semicircular apse. The wooden rib vault succeeds the round arch vault with ceiling and plaster of the nave. Wooden barrel vaults determine three bays, the last of which is occupied by a gallery. To the north, a round arch opening has been made to a chapel vaulted with ribs terminating on small columns. To the south, a lateral portal is set back on a sort of small projection. The voussoirs, enclosed under a billet moulding archivolt, surround a tympanum with a chi-rho. Voussoirs, lintel and cornice of the offsets of the portal's splay are decorated with palmettes and rinceaux. The west façade raises an almost blind gable wall. An opening containing the bell is pierced at its summit. On the south and north façades, the walls have been raised to form, resting on the gable wall, a sort of bell tower. To reinforce the very high apse because of the level difference, a buttress has been established in the middle of the semicircular wall which was previously pierced by an opening that lit the altar.
