Historique
Les forges du Moulinet, installées sur la rive gauche de la Lémance, existaient déjà au 18e siècle et produisaient des chaudières à sucre. En 1812, elles servaient à fondre des canons. Elles ont cessé toute activité en 1868. Le haut fourneau, seul vestige de la forge, date de 1854 (inscription portée : P. Rimontel, 1854). Il est un des derniers fourneaux du Quercy à utiliser le charbon de bois, il fonctionne peu de temps car, la production ne permettant pas de concurrencer les fers anglais. De plan carré, en forme de pyramide tronquée, il est revêtu d'un parement en pierres de taille, renforcé aux angles de tirants de fer et a conservé les quatre piliers du garde corps. L'entrée du gueulard au bas duquel était récupérée la fonte en fusion est voûtée en arc plein-cintre.

History
The forges of Le Moulinet, installed on the left bank of the Lémance, already existed in the 18th century and produced sugar cauldrons. In 1812, they were used to cast cannons. They ceased all activity in 1868. The blast furnace, sole vestige of the forge, dates from 1854 (inscription borne: P. Rimontel, 1854). It is one of the last furnaces of Quercy to use charcoal, it operated for a short time as production did not permit competition with English irons. Of square plan, in the form of a truncated pyramid, it is faced with a facing of dressed stone, reinforced at the angles with iron ties and has retained the four pillars of the guard rail. The entrance of the bell mouth at the base of which molten iron was recovered is vaulted with a round arch.
