Château bâti en éperon sur la vallée de la Garonne. Il comprend un soubassement ancien pouvant être antérieur au 12e siècle et comprenant le donjon, l'escalier et la salle dite des gardes. En avant, sur la terrasse sud, a été rajouté, au 18e siècle, un ensemble d'appartements sur trois niveaux. Le donjon semble la partie la plus ancienne et a été bâti en deux temps. Dans le comble de l'escalier se trouve un encorbellement qui soutient un chéneau de pierre par l'intermédiaire de corbeaux selon un rythme qui semble indiquer le 12e siècle. Au-dessus, la maçonnerie est moins soignée intérieurement. Au-dessus de cette corniche, sur le toit, apparaissent des arcatures à double rouleau qui pourraient être également du 12e siècle. Il s'agirait d'une surélévation ancienne et d'une première grosse transformation. La salle dite des gardes présente des voûtes du 17e ou début 18e siècle, bâties en brique à l'intérieur d'un gros oeuvre médiéval en pierre, témoignant d'une réinstallation à l'intérieur du vieux château.

History
Castle built as a spur overlooking the Garonne valley. It comprises an old substructure which may be earlier than the 12th century and comprising the keep, the staircase and the room called the guards' hall. In front, on the south terrace, was added, in the 18th century, a set of apartments on three levels. The keep appears to be the oldest part and was built in two stages. In the roof space of the staircase is found a corbelling which supports a stone gutter by means of corbels according to a rhythm which seems to indicate the 12th century. Above, the masonry is less carefully finished internally. Above this cornice, on the roof, appear arcatures with double moulding which could also be from the 12th century. This would be an ancient heightening and a first major transformation. The room called the guards' hall presents vaults from the 17th or early 18th century, built in brick inside a heavy medieval rubble stone construction, testifying to a reinstallation within the old castle.
