Historique
L'église fut commencée vers 1401. Le gros oeuvre fut terminé vers 1415 et les voûtes en 1452. Détruites en 1569, ces dernières furent refaites en 1875-1876. La tour fut érigée en 1452. La chapelle Sainte-Trinité fut édifiée par Jean de Castelnau du Lau, évêque de Bayonne, pour lui servir de sépulture. La nef unique s'achève par un chevet à cinq pas et, au sud-ouest, par un clocher porche soutenu par des piliers. Ce clocher fut décapité en 1569 au moment des guerres de Religion. Il est flanqué, dans l'angle sud-ouest, d'une tourelle hexagonale contenant un escalier à vis. Le porche abrite un portail avec une frise sculptée à motifs végétaux. Le tympan est creusé d'une niche à statuette. Sur le choeur, côté sud, est greffée une absidiole polygonale. De part et d'autre du choeur ont été construites des chapelles.

History
The church was begun around 1401. The heavy construction was completed around 1415 and the vaults in 1452. Destroyed in 1569, the latter were remade in 1875-1876. The tower was erected in 1452. The chapel of Sainte-Trinité was built by Jean de Castelnau du Lau, bishop of Bayonne, to serve as his burial place. The single nave ends with a chevet of five bays and, to the south-west, with a porch tower supported by pillars. This porch tower was decapitated in 1569 at the time of the Wars of Religion. It is flanked, in the south-west angle, by a hexagonal turret containing a spiral staircase. The porch shelters a portal with a sculptured frieze with plant motifs. The tympanum is hollowed out with a niche for a small statue. On the choir, on the south side, is grafted a polygonal apsidiole. On either side of the choir were built chapels.
