Historique
Cette bergerie, encore circulaire en 1834, fut tronquée après le boisement des Landes et la disparition des grands troupeaux de moutons. Elle fut alors transformée en écurie ou étable et hangar pour charrettes. Elle constitue l'ultime représentant d'un type d'édifice relevé par Pierre Toulgouat qui émet l'idée d'une transmission de cette forme inhabituelle par les pèlerins revenant de Compostelle où des formes similaires existent dans les montagnes voisines de cette ville. Le bâtiment, autrefois annulaire, adopte la forme d'un fer à cheval avec un mur extérieur de moellons aveugle et, côté cour, une ossature de poteaux sur des blocs de pierre reliés par des murets supportant une cloison de planches. Les fermes de la charpente, qui rayonnent autour d'un point central situé dans la cour, déterminent treize travées couvertes d'un toit de tuiles creuses.

History
This sheepfold, still circular in 1834, was truncated after the afforestation of the Landes and the disappearance of large flocks of sheep. It was then transformed into a stable or shed and a shed for carts. It constitutes the ultimate representative of a type of building noted by Pierre Toulgouat who puts forward the idea of a transmission of this unusual form by pilgrims returning from Compostella where similar forms exist in the mountains near this city. The building, formerly annular, adopts the form of a horseshoe with a blind external wall of rubble stone and, on the courtyard side, a framework of posts on blocks of stone connected by small walls supporting a timber partition. The roof trusses, which radiate around a central point situated in the courtyard, determine thirteen bays covered with a roof of curved tiles.
