Ce monument a été élevé à la fin d'une épidémie de typhoïde (1856-1858). Le socle du monument comporte, au-dessus d'un épais soubassement, un stylobate décoré de feuillages à sa base et ponctué aux angles de pilastres cannelés encadrant quatre inscriptions gravées. La corniche du stylobate, soulignée d'oves, porte le socle de la colonne à base attique. Deux bagues, ornées des lettres A et M entrelacées parmi des branchages, ceignent le fût cannelé de la colonne coiffée d'un chapiteau composite supportant une statue de la Vierge à l'Enfant.

History
This monument was erected at the end of an epidemic of typhoid (1856-1858). The base of the monument comprises, above a thick substructure, a stylobate decorated with foliage at its base and punctuated at the angles with fluted pilasters framing four engraved inscriptions. The cornice of the stylobate, underlined with ovae, bears the base of the column with Attic base. Two rings, decorated with the letters A and M intertwined among branches, encircle the fluted shaft of the column topped with a composite capital supporting a statue of the Virgin and Child.
