The château perpetuates an old legend according to which Blanca, daughter of a Moorish chief defeated at Poitiers by Charles Martel, seduced by the calm of the place, decided to settle there and had a fortress built, which official documents mention in the 12th century. The current château was built in the 18th century. Of rectangular plan with a small return wing, the château comprises one storey above ground level. The main façade, to the west, presents a slight projection from the rest of the building with, at the centre of it, a second projection forming an entrance crowned with a triangular pediment with sculptured motif in a rounded garland flanked by wings. The angles are chained with ashlar stones. The courtyard of honour on this face is bounded by a stone balustrade recalling that of the château. The east face presents, at its centre, only a rounded projection. Same balustrade interrupted on the projection and replaced by panels on which are placed three flaming urns. Near the château is found a wine store of the 17th century with, on one of the long sides, rounded arcatures resting on square pillars and closed by a balustrade. At the end of a large avenue and terminating it, is found an altar screen of grey and pink stone and marble of the 18th century, which comes from a destroyed church in Bordeaux. The central panel, with two cherubs at the corners of the frame, is framed by two marble columns with composite capitals. On either side of this panel, two others comprise an ascension of cherubs presenting the instruments of the Passion. A large motif in ogee frames the whole. At the top of the central panel, a glory with at the centre a dove in flight and around the edge a succession of cherub heads.
