Cinéma atmosphérique inauguré en 1932, construit à l'emplacement des halles de la barrière de Médoc pour la société dirigée par Emile Couzinet, cinéaste-producteur et metteur en scène. La salle de huit cents places conservait son décor et ses toiles marouflées, inspirés, comme le nom de l'établissement, par le cinéma atmosphérique parisien construit par l'architecte Auguste Bluysen sur les Grands Boulevards en 1932 (voir notice Mérimée PA00086015). Le cinéma bordelais a été fermé en 1976 et démoli peu de temps après, mais le décor intérieur a été conservé.

History
Atmospheric cinema inaugurated in 1932, built at the location of the halls of the Médoc gate for the company directed by Emile Couzinet, filmmaker-producer and director. The hall of eight hundred seats retained its decor and marouflaged canvases, inspired, like the name of the establishment, by the atmospheric cinema built in Paris by architect Auguste Bluysen on the Grands Boulevards in 1932 (see Mérimée notice PA00086015). The Bordeaux cinema was closed in 1976 and demolished shortly afterwards, but the interior decor was preserved.
