Bellefond était primitivement un prieuré bâti par les chanoines réguliers de l'ordre de Saint-Augustin. En 1186, il fut soumis au monastère de la Sauve-Majeure. Durant les troubles du 16e siècle, d'importantes dégradations furent faites à l'église et aux bâtiments claustraux. En 1655, le prieuré fut uni au monastère des Feuillants de Bordeaux, qui le gardèrent jusqu'à la Révolution. History
Bellefond was originally a priory built by the regular canons of the order of Saint-Augustine. In 1186, it was placed under the monastère de la Sauve-Majeure. During the troubles of the 16th century, significant damage was done to the church and the claustral buildings. In 1655, the priory was united with the monastère des Feuillants of Bordeaux, which kept it until the Revolution.
