Historique
La Double était une immense forêt de chênes et de châtaigniers, longtemps restée à l'écart des courants touristiques et économiques du Périgord. Cet éloignement lui a permis de conserver un certain nombre de particularismes, notamment architecturaux. Des maisons à ossature en bois comblée en torchis, précédées d'une galerie couverte, le « balet », constituent l'habitat traditionnel paysan. Le Parcot en constitue un excellent exemple avec la grange située à proximité bâtie selon les mêmes principes que la maison d'habitation, le fournil et l'étang bordé de chênes. La grange est datée de 1841. Cette maison est l'une des rares maisons doubleaudes qu'aucun rajout moderne n'est venu dénaturer. L'ensemble présente un triple intérêt : architectural, ethnographique et écologique.

History
The Double was an immense forest of oak and chestnut trees, long remaining removed from the tourist and economic currents of Périgord. This remoteness allowed it to preserve a certain number of particularisms, notably architectural. Houses with timber framing filled with daub, preceded by a covered gallery, the "balet", constitute the traditional peasant dwelling. The Parcot constitutes an excellent example with the barn situated nearby built according to the same principles as the dwelling house, the bakehouse and the pond bordered by oaks. The barn is dated 1841. This house is one of the rare Doubleaude houses which no modern addition has come to spoil. The ensemble presents a triple interest: architectural, ethnographic and ecological.
