Historique

History
Cabin with a circular plan, with a diameter of two metres. The load-bearing wall is built in squared rubble stone whilst the conical vault, raised in corbelling, is made up of limestone lauze. To compensate for the unevenness of the terrain, a small staircase runs around the cabin to the east and provides access to a small enclosure which precedes the structure to the south. A low door is pierced to the south, topped by a stone lintel. A small square opening is made to the west. A small square opening is made in the east side of the roof. Ethnographic evidence shows that the cabins appear to have been built mainly in the 19th century, and cannot be earlier than the 17th century. These constructions appear to be linked to wine-growing activity. According to testimony, the cabin served as temporary shelter for meals, during a shower or for rest. The mule, donkey or horse could be stationed there.
