Historique
L'édifice appartient au type des églises à coupoles à une seule nef, très répandu en Périgord. Il se compose de trois travées recouvertes de coupoles sur pendentifs et d'un sanctuaire en berceau. La travée précédant le choeur est élargie par deux grands formerets indiquant une amorce de transept. Dans la façade ouest s'ouvre un portail dont les multiples archivoltes retombaient sur des colonnettes monolithes aujourd'hui disparues. Comme dans la plus grande partie des églises de cette époque, les combles ont été surélevés pour servir de refuge aux époques de trouble et des échauguettes à mâchicoulis construites auxd angles, accusent un souci de défense. Le clocher carré qui s'élève sur la dernière travée en avant du choeur est de construction moderne et a sans doute remplacé un clocher plus ancien.

History
The building belongs to the type of churches with cupolas with a single nave, very widespread in Perigord. It is composed of three bays covered with cupolas on pendentives and a sanctuary with a barrel vault. The bay preceding the choir is widened by two large formeret arches indicating the beginning of a transept. In the west façade opens a portal whose multiple archivolts rested on monolithic columns now disappeared. As in the greater part of the churches of that period, the roof spaces were raised to serve as refuge in times of trouble and keep machicolations built at the angles, show a concern for defence. The square bell tower which rises on the last bay in front of the choir is of modern construction and has no doubt replaced an older bell tower.
