Selon une légende, le Prince Noir habita Jovelle pendant la guerre de Cent ans. Charles VII y établit son quartier général pendant quatre mois. Du château, il ne reste que les remparts qui ferment la cour, une partie du donjon dont les créneaux ont été refaits, et la chapelle romane qui se dresse à pic. Dans la cour, présence d'un puits en pierre du 17e siècle. Des communs complètent l'ensemble.

History
According to legend, the Black Prince inhabited Jovelle during the Hundred Years' War. Charles VII established his headquarters there for four months. Of the castle, only the ramparts that close the courtyard remain, part of the keep whose crenellations have been renewed, and the Romanesque chapel which rises sheer. In the courtyard, presence of a 17th century stone well. Outbuildings complete the ensemble.
