Le château et ses jardins sont implantés sur une terrasse surplombant la Vézère. Les jardins sont organisés en trois espaces principaux. Au centre, les jardins " intra muros ", avec la cour d'honneur, la cour des communs, la tour et le chemin de ronde ; au sud, le jardin en terrasse ; au nord, le parc paysager. Les jardins sont implantés sur des parties historiques, l'emprise du jardin 17e sur la terrasse sud, l'allée de charmes et l'allée d'honneur du 18e siècle. A l'intérieur des murs, la cour des communs abrite le jardin bas. Elle est séparée de la cour d'honneur par une charmille en galerie. L'eau circule entre un bassin circulaire et la fontaine adossée à la charmille. Dans les jardins en terrasse, trois espaces organisés dans la seconde moitié du 20e siècle, se substituent à l'ancien potager : une enfilade de salles de verdure, une plantation de noyers en quinconce et le jardin du pavillon. Le parc irrégulier s'étire au nord du château.

History
The castle and its gardens are set on a terrace overlooking the Vézère. The gardens are organised into three main spaces. In the centre, the gardens "intra muros", with the courtyard of honour, the servants' courtyard, the tower and the rampart walk; to the south, the terraced garden; to the north, the landscape park. The gardens are set on historical parts, the footprint of the 17th-century garden on the southern terrace, the hornbeam alley and the 18th-century avenue of honour. Inside the walls, the servants' courtyard houses the lower garden. It is separated from the courtyard of honour by a hornbeam gallery hedge. Water circulates between a circular basin and the fountain set against the hornbeam hedge. The irregular park stretches to the north of the castle.
