Historique

History
According to local tradition, the church would have been built on the site of a Roman temple. From the 12th century there remain only the choir and the transepts. The nave was rebuilt subsequently (late 17th or 18th century). The circular choir is flanked by two absidioles. The transept communicates with the nave by a great arcade on the crossing and two others very narrow on the arms, which suggests that the primitive arrangement must have comprised a nave and two aisles. The crossing of the transept, of square plan, is covered by a dome on pendentives, carried by four doubleaux. The cul de four of the choir is adorned with paintings.
