According to tradition, construction would date from the English occupation, in the course of the 15th century. It was a fort sheltering, in turn, French or English. The castle consists of a round tower to which a second more slender tower is attached. The whole suggests more the idea of a stronghold than a castle, as it does not appear that the two towers were part of a single complex of buildings. The large tower presumably served as a main dwelling while the other contained the staircase and a few small rooms. Two machicolations defend, one the door of the staircase tower, the other a probable access opening in the large tower, on the north face. Later, in the 16th and 17th centuries, the construction was pierced with small windows. The roof space of the large tower was adorned with large dormers with triangular pediments. In the 18th century, on either side of the large tower, a main dwelling in single-storey was added with a service building returning on the east side. About fifty metres to the south stands an octagonal dovecote mounted on eight stone pillars whose summits are furnished with a collar against rodents. The roof terminates in a kind of lantern fitted with a hemispherical cupola.
