Grotte découverte le 12 septembre 1940 par quatre jeunes gens : Marcel Ravidat, Jacques Marsal, Georges Agnel et Simon Coencas. Elle conserve un important ensemble de gravures et de peintures pariétales (vaches, chevaux, taureaux, cerfs) , à même les parois, datées environ de 15.000 av. JC, soit entre la fin du solutréen et le début du magdalénien.

Cave discovered on 12 September 1940 by four young people: Marcel Ravidat, Jacques Marsal, Georges Agnel and Simon Coencas. It preserves an important ensemble of engravings and parietal paintings (cows, horses, bulls, deer), on the walls themselves, dated approximately 15,000 BC, that is between the end of the Solutrean and the beginning of the Magdalenian.
