Historique
Construit par Edouard III d'Angleterre en 1286, le château-fort servait de citadelle à la bastide. Les murailles se succèdent sans interruption. Aux angles, quatre tours rondes pour la défense. De plan carré, le donjon isolé se dresse au centre de l'enceinte. Selon la légende, la reine Blanche fut enfermée dans le donjon, où elle mourut empoisonnée.

History
Built by Edward III of England in 1286, the fortified castle served as a citadel to the bastide. The walls succeed one another without interruption. At the corners, four round towers for defence. Of square plan, the isolated keep rises in the centre of the enclosure. According to legend, Queen Blanche was imprisoned in the keep, where she died poisoned.
