History
At the south chevet of the Romanesque church is found a group of 15th-century buildings which ends with the tower of Saint-Jacques. This circular tower contains a spiral staircase. It is located directly above an underground chamber defended by loopholes. The tower forms, with the adjoining buildings, a characteristic ensemble of the rural architecture of the western part of Périgord. This tower was the seat of the judge of the seigneurie of Montréal.
