Historique
Extérieurement, l'édifice présente l'aspect d'une forteresse. Les murs élevés sont couronnés de larges créneaux. Vers le centre s'élève une tour carrée ornée d'arcatures. La porte de la face nord est surmontée d'un motif sculpté dans le style roman byzantin : une archivolte plein cintre décorée, repose sur un bandeau de même style. Les corbeaux qui soutiennent le bandeau sont ornés, dans les espaces, de bas-reliefs représentant divers personnages. Dans le tympan, sur la saillie du bandeau et sur l'archivolte, sont groupées des statuettes qui ont gardé des traces de peinture, protégées par un auvent triangulaire contemporain. Elles ne sauraient être attribuées à une époque plus ancienne que le 14e siècle. A l'intérieur, trois coupoles sur pendentifs que supportent des arcs en tiers-point, recouvrent la nef. Le chevet carré est plus récent. Un escalier logé dans la saillie d'un contrefort conduit aux combles fortifiés de l'église.

History
Externally, the edifice presents the aspect of a fortress. The raised walls are crowned with wide crenellations. Towards the centre rises a square tower ornamented with arcatures. The door of the north face is surmounted by a motif sculpted in the Byzantine Romanesque style: a decorated round arch archivolte rests on a band of the same style. The corbels which support the band are ornamented, in the spaces, with bas-reliefs representing various figures. In the tympanum, on the projection of the band and on the archivolte, are grouped statuettes which have retained traces of paint, protected by a contemporary triangular canopy. They cannot be attributed to a period earlier than the 14th century. Internally, three domes on pendentives supported by pointed arches cover the nave. The square chevet is more recent. A staircase housed in the projection of a buttress leads to the fortified roof spaces of the church.
