Historique
"Groupe touristique" réalisé par l'architecte Georges-Henri Pingusson en 1932, inséré dans un site surplombant le golfe de Saint-Tropez. L'édifice est construit en six mois, en béton armé avec des remplissages en brique creuse. Le programme d'origine est très complet et comporte, outre l'hôtel de 110 chambres (dont 90 avec salles de bains) , un restaurant, un complexe sportif avec piscines et courts de tennis, un casino, des commerces et des bâtiments de service annexes (château d'eau, buanderie, garages, chambres de chauffeurs et transformateur). L'architecte signe l'ensemble de l'édifice, dessinant aussi l'ameublement, les luminaires, les tapis et même les costumes du personnel. Inauguré le 14 juillet 1932, l'hôtel n'est ouvert que pendant quelques saisons. Au cours de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, il est réquisitionné par les armées française, italienne, allemande puis américaine ; il sert de 1945 à 1947 de centre de repos pour les anciens détenus au retour des camps de concentration. A partir de 1948, l'hôtel est transformé en appartements en copropriété.

History
"Tourist group" designed by architect Georges-Henri Pingusson in 1932, inserted into a site overlooking the gulf of Saint-Tropez. During the Second World War, it was requisitioned by French, Italian, German and then American armies; it served from 1945 to 1947 as a rest centre for former prisoners returning from concentration camps. From 1948, the hotel was converted into apartments held in co-ownership.
