Historique
Citadelle commencée en 1583, en partie détruite, puis reconstruite au début du 17e siècle. Vauban y apporte quelques modifications (plan en relief daté de 1716). Au 18e siècle, construction d'une chapelle plus grande que la précédente. En 1918, la citadelle abandonne le domaine militaire pour le domaine privé de l'Etat. En 1958, inauguration du musée naval. Citadelle acquise par la commune en 1992.

History
Citadel begun in 1583, partly destroyed, then rebuilt at the beginning of the 17th century. Vauban brought some modifications (relief plan dated 1716).
