Ensemble de fortifications décidé par Napoléon Ier pour renforcer le dispositif de défense des côtes méditerranéennes. La réalisation commence en 1810, mais la plupart des fortins furent bâtis entre 1841 et 1861. Les batteries de l'île de Bagaud ont été édifiées entre 1855 et 1860. Les fortins, auxquels on accédait par un pont-levis, sont entourés de fossés.

History
Set of fortifications decided by Napoleon I to strengthen the defence system of the Mediterranean coasts. Work begins in 1810, but most of the small forts were built between 1841 and 1861. The batteries on the island of Bagaud were built between 1855 and 1860. The small forts, which were accessed by a drawbridge, are surrounded by ditches.
