History
One of twenty-two power stations in the hydroelectric development of the Durance and Verdon basins during the 1950s, this power station was designed by architect Jean Crozet for EDF. It was put into service in 1959. The factory, set against the relief, is of the type known as "open-roof" with external gantry of 120 tonnes lifting capacity, circulating above the machine room. The latter houses three Kaplan turbines, three three-phase alternators and three three-phase transformers.
